This assignment that I am currently working on requires me to make a character using events or things that have happened in my life.
Research does not really come into my particular assignment project because all my character were devised from my mind and past experiences.
Such as the whole gaming I mean I have had a lot of experience with playing video games.
The whole idea of the character working in a collectible model store comes from when I use to visit s certain store through my childhood and I learnt a lot when I was there and made friends with the store owners.
I visit the store even now but not as much as I use to.
Zack Morris always has pens in his pocket as stated. However, I also constantly carry a pen on me no matter what. You never know when you need a pen.
I have a rival myself but not really a rival who I hate. I have a friendly rival but I prefer the idea of an evil rival so I just kind of took my rival in real life and figured out what I don’t like about him and extended on that.

So as the title of this post suggests I have finally recorded the audio for my poem video. The filming is almost all done except I have to film a few extra shots. Then after that I should be done.
Now when I started this creative poem assignment I did not think I would enjoy it because I have never been interested in poetry.
However, the poem I have picked is close to my heart because it is in a video game.
The video game is Crisis Core: Final Fantasy. The poem is called Loveless. This poem is so close to my heart as I am a massive Final Fantasy nerd. The music I am going to use for the video for like a music bed will be The Price of Freedom. This is the music that plays in the background during the game when is poem is read out originally.
OK so im currently working on a short film for college and for an assignment for my tutor Steve Keevil. This whole assignment consists of creating a character from an event in our life or something within our personality and building a story around that character. Such as how they looks there friends, their home, there rival if any. There is so much to put into a character and their story.
So tomorrow starts a day of filming between three people. All of us trying to film scenes to put to a recorded poem. The Poem I have chosen is Loveless. Many of you who follow Final Fantasy will know this poem from Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII. When I looked through this poem I the images that popped out to me where of a guy wanting to fit in with the rest of the world. However, he is put to one side my society because he is different in some way. So the way I wanted to show this differences visually was to dress the main character of this poem in dark clothing and everyone else in bright clothing. This would show the contrast between the different and the normal.This will also show signs of another person dealing with loneliness as he is also different. Eventually we begin to see similarities between the two characters and at the end we discover they are the same person but two sides of the same coin you could say.
OK well first off is to point out the obvious fact that this is a new Tron film. It’s the sequel to one of the most classically brilliant films from the 80s.
The film centres around the son of an extremely wealthy virtual world designer named Sam Flynn. His father’s name is Kevin Flynn. Sam goes in search of his missing father and ends up in a virtual world his father created. He happens upon one of his fathers creations turned bad and the story unfolds.
OK now my thought at first that I was not going to enjoy this film because I thought nothing could be worthy to be called a sequel to such a great film like Tron. However, I was wrong. The story of the film really weaves in well with the previous film and for those who didn’t see the original Tron its written so well that they would know what happened. They may even want to go out and see the first Tron. I know I want to see it again.
The setting and general look of the film is mind-blowing especially in high-definition. It really has this technological feel to it. The look of everything has been well thought out such as when programs (people) are destroyed they break up into little blocks of data. The sound has been well thought out too. The music is all techno and most of the music has been written and performed by Daft Punk. They really make everything come to life with all the music and sound effects. You really feel like you’re in the virtual world with them.
Now there was one thing that bugged me about the film. It seemed to go on forever and towards the end its dragged on and on. Apart from this I can not fault it in any other way.
The Characters:
Sam Flynn played by Garrett Hedlund
The main hero of this film. The actor played this character so well you could almost believe that these things were really happening to him. Sam is portrayed as a lonely young man who want to desperately see his father again.
Kevin Flynn played by Jeff Bridges
The father of Sam Flynn. Jeff was the main character in the original Tron film. Kevin is portrayed as the creator of the virtual world. He knows everything about it and is seen mostly as a guide figure for his son Sam and his follower Quorra who is like a daughter to Kevin.
Quorra played by Olivia Wilde
She is like I said before a follower and like a daughter to Kevin Flynn. She looks up to him throughout the film. She is portrayed as a confidant young woman who has so many questions about the world outside the virtual world she is in. Quorra is early on reviled to be a special kind of program known as an ISO.
Clu played by Jeff Bridges
I know what your thinking, how can Jeff play two characters. Well for this film they took his old image and computer generated into the film. Clu throughout this film is portrayed as an evil clone of Kevin Flynn the Kevin created to help create the perfect system. He is seen as corrupt and power mad.
All I really have to say now is if you loved the first Tron film then go and see Tron Legacy. Even if you have not seen the original go and see it either way. Just be sure to prepare yourself to sit through over two hours of film. This has the potential to be one of your new favourite films.
